The name "BeGo", in Amharic means "being kind". The name coveys the message of kindness to the planet, to the people and the animals that are exhibit of universal attractions. The name is a reflection of what the tour company is and wants to become. It wants to take you to 3.4 million years of human footprint to experience yourself at the source creating unforgettable experiences of a lifetime with out guilt.

Bego is a sustainable/ responsible tour company having offices in Ethiopia and Washington DC. It offers authentic, local and immersive experience to its clients while leaving a minimum carbon footprint to the destination. That way the clients will be free of worries of their negative travel impact because they have contributed to the continued legacy of the destination to generations to come as they have experienced it. While doing that, there will not be any compromise to the quality of their experience. To the contrary, their experience will be fuller, richer and engaging because the itineraries are embedded in the interaction of locales at the source including experiencing of the life at the host.

1. Environmentally Responsible

We will craft your experience in a way that will leave a huge footprint to remember but little footprint to pollute the destination that you loved and leave it behind intact for others to experience it the way you did. That is called courtesy! In doing that, if you want to, we will arrange for you to plant a tree at the destination to offset the consumption of fossil fuel the vehicles used to get you around. We will also make sure to minimize the use of non-biodegradable materials while you travel and we take care of the waste in a responsible manner so that it is not left at the destination.
2. Socially Responsible

While experiencing the local community where you will immerse yourself having the best experience up close, we will make sure the culture, norms and the beauty of the destination stays pure and intact. Also we will work towards improving the quality of life of the communities that you will visit by contributing our proceeds in a sustainable manner.
3. Economically Equitable

We at BeGo as much as possible will hire most of the personnel that will be engaged with you will be the locals at the source. That way, we will make sure the communities at the destination benefits from your presence. We will also make sure that the proceeds of the money you paid to BeGo is invested in the local communities creating opportunities for them to open sustainable businesses. As a B Corp certified company, we will support local schools, clinics as well as local nurseries as part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility. You should be proud of yourself for being a conscious tourist because every little step we take as an individual will make the world a better place and will help reduce and eliminate global tourism/travel pollution and its negative impact.
